Numerical modeling division

Welcome to the hydraulic and hydrology numerical modeling division website of the Hydraulic Laboratory of the CEDEX´s Hydrographic Studies Center. This web page allows you to learn about our activities, get some information about specific activity areas, as well as contact us.

Objectives

The main objective of our division is to offer solutions, based in numerical models, to hydraulic and hydrologic problems.

This is achieved by using our own developed software as well as models from other developers.

Division highlights

Our team comprises a division coordinator, Angel Luis Aldana Valverde, as well as a number of research associates. The main activities conducted are: 

Our division focuses not only on giving solutions to specific engineering issues but also on designing new lines of research, improving the technical level of our activities.

Also, an academic activity is carried out, participating in programs leading to M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering.

The main part of these works are developed for the "General Direction of Hydraulic Works and Water Quality of the Environment Ministry (DGOHCA.- Dirección General de Obras Hidráulicas y Calidad de las Aguas del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente)", but also some works are carried out for private companies and other administrations.
